Christmas comes early

Christmas came early to Hagley & Holy Wells Lodge this year as a quirk of the calendar meant we we had to hold our Christmas meeting on 7th December!

It has become a tradition to invite wives, partners and - most especially - lodge widows to this event, with the result that 49 people enjoyed a Christmas Dinner followed by entertainment from the Primrose Hospice Choir.

With W Bro Chris Uren in the chair and his wife Sam by his side, the evening was enjoyed by everyone present and around £280 was raised for the Hospice.

Three widows were welcomed by the Worshipful Master and he and Sam presented them individually with gifts from the Lodge. Those widows who were unable to attend will instead be visited by our Almoner, who will also take them gifts from the lodge.
