The launch of the Festival 2022 Appeal took place on 21st January 2017 at a Dinner Dance for nearly 700 people at Chateau Impney.
The festivities followed a meeting of Worcestershire Installed Masters' Lodge, No. 6889, which featured, R. W. Bro. Sir David Wootton, Assistant Grand Master, and a talk, “The Strategy for Freemasonry 2020: now we’re going to deliver it”; subtitled, “Masonry is fun.”
The Provincial Grand Master unveiled an ambitious target of £2,022,000 which he hopes will be raised in the province over the next few years in support of the new Masonic charitable Fund.
He seemed genuinely surprised though - and moved! - when it was revealed that the appeal had already got off to a racing start having already raised over £300,000!
Key note speaker MCF President, R. W. Bro. Richard Hone, QC, emphasised the significant contribution from local and Lodge organised events, along with regular charitable giving. The MCF presentation included a short film on the organisation and illustrated the range of active involvement.
Highlight of the entertainment was the fabulous singing of Jasmine Elcock, one of last year's finalists in, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, who was celebrating her 15th birthday and was accompanied by Jon Scott and his band.
